>>>> THE CASIO G-SHOCK <<<<
Haveing collected watches for a good many years now, I thought I would share a few insites on them with details about modifying and or repairing some of the ones that I most enjoy collecting. I have come to the conclusion that all watches are not created equal, I have endured many watches that were asthetically pleasing to the eye but were just not built to last. Through trial and error, I have advanced to the point of abandoning any and all conventional means of time in the relentless search for the ultimate and longest lasting wrist machines, in doing so, I discovered,... The Casio G-Shock. There is no equal,... I am continually updating and improving this site, so check in from time to time for new things going on. I hope to possibly have a blog or a means to post feedback on related topics and articles in the near future.
The Newest Arrivals and Could Be The All Time Favorites,...
Here are my GD100 and GDF100 Series G-Shocks. These are the latest and in my opinion the most tactical looking of all the G-Shock models. Casio really pulled out all the stops on these models, go big or go home! My kind of watch, great job Casio on these models. Size, function, look, the new model design team are after me own heart!!(spoken in an Irish dialect) Both of these models boast a huge case size and fitment for the largest of wrists, I myself having a larger wrist prefer the buckle side of the strap switched over to the inside of my wrist so that the G doesn't ride toward the outside. The GDF models offer the same Altimeter, Barometer and Temp features as the older G and GW-9200 Riseman models which were to small on my wrist, as much as I liked them, I tryed, boy did I try, just could never get that model to fit right. Thats where this model fit the bill perfectly. Enough ramblin, onto the pics!!!
Casio G-Shock Triple Crown of Surfing Frogman.
Here is one of my very favorite Casio G-Shock Frogman models. It is the GW200TC-3, Triple Crown of Surfing Frogman. These models were first released in 2005 to commemorate Hawaii's Triple Crown of Surfing. Three models were released, all in 2-tone variations, red, blue and green. These are very unique and having always been a surfer myself I find them really appealing. This model with green writing on the bezel and green straps identifies itself with Triple Crown of Surfing North Shore, Hawaii on both the strap and case back. They are getting harder and harder to find these days in exceptional condition. I was fortunate enough to purchase this one new.
Casio G-Shock Men in Rusty Black Frogman (MIRB).
Next is the MIRB Frogman, Men in Rusty Black edition, these are a Military themed Frogman with a somewhat covert look, coloring on the bezel is absent, as well as writing on the strap is subdued in black. On the wearers view side, the numbers 2422, representing the module used in this Frogman, also stamped on the strap on the opposing side is Divers 200m, in addition to The Crystal having a somewhat pinkish tint. All of the Frogman model G-Shocks are metal cased with screwback design. I have included a couple pics of my latest modds to the Frogman. I never really cared to much for the purplish grey colored bezel and strap, how it originally came, so I removed them from the case and module, filled the bezel letters in with yellow Testors enamel paint, let it dry for a day or so and dyed the bezel and strap in Rit dye, dark green, for around 15 to 20 minutes, in doing so, the yellow bezel letters tinted to an Army styled green that I really like, also darkening the bezel and strap. I am very pleased with this outcome.

DW-5600E
Next is the longest running series which highly favors the very first Casio G-Shock the DW-5000C from 1983, more or less starting the G-Shock revolution for which the world will never be the same. This is the DW-5600E, I would concider it the most practical G-Shock still in production. I have several in this series, this is one that I have converted the strap over to a DW-6600 strap, it is much chunkier and masculine than the original and is an exact fit. This model uses module number 1545. These are also available in solar, atomic and metal cased screwback models which commend a much greater premium.
Additional DW-5600MS modded
What I have here is a modded DW-5600MS military themed model. I have removed the negative display module and replaced it with a standard positive display module. I also filled in the bezel letters dark grey and fitted it with a DW-6600 Strap.

DW-6900BD-8VT Snowboard Special Edition
Next is my very favorite model of all time I think, the Special edition DW-6900. I actually stumbled across this one on ebay and scored it for a very low bid on Halloween night. I believe this is also a 2005 model release, it is still mint condition. It comes with 2 different strap options, one is a dark blue velcro strap and the other is an odd red and grey resin strap, they both slide into adaptors mounted on the watch. It comes with a different module than the standard DW-6900 as you can tell by not having the 3 eyes, this one has module 1449 where as the standard module is a 1289. The different module is what I think I like so much about this model G.
Here are a few pics of this same watch with modds.
With this modd I have removed the blue bezel cover and with an extra I had from another 6900, swapped the two. This is a very easy modd it only requires the removing of 4 small screws, one on each corner of the bezel. Then I filled in the word G-SHOCK at the top of the bezel to match the backlight button. You can use both Testors enamel or acrylic paint for this modd as well as Elmer's opaque painters markers. I have found that the paint markers actually work great and have been using this method a lot lately. This is also reversable, I can always remove the black bezel and replace it with the original blue one. I also added a very nice dark green double layered Bertucci 22mm strap that fits perfectly in the G-Shock adaptors.
G-5500TS-8
This is also another great model that has been around for a long portion of Casios G-Shock line of watches. I would say this watch favors the 5600 most of all, only a little larger display and strap. This one in paticular is a newer Solar model with a new color configuration. It uses module number 3160 and is part of a special edition New York City and Tokyo collaboration, the one I presently have is the NYC model and it is displayed in the backlight, the second model is bright yellow and has Tokyo abreviated in the backlight. Both very cool watches so pick one up while they are still available.

G-2310
This is also among my very favorite G's, the G-2310. I have several different versions of this model including an all clear G-Lide model. It shares a similar module and battery as the GW200 Frogman. An all around great looking watch with many functions and of course G-Shock toughness.

DW-6600
This is definately a great model as well, concidering how several different branches of the US Military have issued this very model to its great soldiers many years over. Also a simpler more practical G, it has a very legible display and is a very large and robust G-Shock and will bring years of hard use and enjoyment. As you can tell by the backlight button, it did not originally come on this model G, I switched the standard button that came on it with a DW-6900 G-Shock which has the same exact case, bezel, strap and Backlight fitment. The modules of the two are also interchangable. I have included a picture of my most recent modd, I removed the module and painted the dial which lies just behind the crystal. With the module slid out of the case the dial slides out easily as well. (make sure the very tiny alarm spring does not fall out and get lost when you remove the module) I painted the dial to match the custom G backlight button and the words on the top most portion of the bezel.

DW-6900
Here is the DW-6900 model G-Shock, alarm, timer and stop watch, simple but very solid watch with a bright backlight and a very nice wrist presence. I currently have 3 different versions of this watch and really like the case design of this model and the DW-6600. I filled the G in the backlight button red to match the G-Shock on the bezel.
